Abstract Submission
The Conference welcomes delegates to submit abstract of papers to be considered for presentation at International Symposium on Epilepsy in Neurometabolic Diseases (ISENMD). All abstract shall be submitted via online abstract submission system or via email. The Conference does NOT accept any format of facsimile.

Deadline for abstract submission is 12 P.M. local time, November 30, 2009.
Each individual submitting an abstract must complete all information requested on the online form. After you have completed all of the information, you will receive confirmation that your abstract has been submitted successfully.

Criteria
Acceptance of abstracts will be judged on originality, scientific merit, study design, clarity of expression, presentation of data, adherence to the rules of submission, and relevance to the topic. Abstracts must be limited to no more than 300 words.

General Policies
  1. Each abstract shall have only one presenting author. Every abstract is limited to keep a maximum of presenting author and co-author of 8 persons 
  2. The abstracts must be submitted in English.
  3. Notifications of acceptance will be sent to presenting authors by November 30, 2009. Scheduling details and instructions for oral or poster presentations will also be included with this correspondence.
  4. The presenting author of an abstract is requested to complete the routine registration procedure for his / her participation by the time of abstract submission and to show up the evidence for that at the time of abstract submission.

Abstract Format
  1. Entire abstract (including title, authors and affiliation) must not exceed 300 words.
  2. Abstract title must be in CAPITAL letters. Do not indent. Title should be concise and indicate the content of abstract.
  3. Author and co-author names, institutions, cities and countries are to be typed under the title. Author’s first name or given name shall always placed before family name (i.e. Shu-Hsien Huang, Marry Anderson) Each author should be listed by institution, city, state and country. Do NOT include degrees or professional titles (Dr., PhD., Prof., MD, etc).
  4. Leave one line space between the title/author block and the body of the abstract.
  5. Abstract text must be single-spaced. Do not leave blank lines between paragraphs.
  6. The headings (Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions) must be bolded and followed by a colon (:). Text must follow immediately after.
  7. Neither graphs, pictures nor other types of images should be included in abstract.
  8. Use standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full term the first time it appears.
  9. Do not include references, credits or grant support.

Objective: Central nervous system is frequently affected in patients with mitochondrial diseases because more ATPs are needed to maintain its function. Here we report the epileptic seizures in mitochondrial diseases in infants and early childhood. ……….

Methods: From 1983 to 2008, we consecutively collected chart records of epileptic seizures in patients aged less than 3 years with mitochondrial diseases………..

Results:A total 36 cases, 18 males and 18 females, aged from 3 months to 3 years, were enrolled...….......

Conclusion: The epileptic seizures in mitochondrial diseases in infants and early childhood are not uncommon. Most of them belonged to non-syndromic mitochondrial diseases.…..…..
